Tips on Maintaining Scurl For Growth 2019

How to Maintain S Curl Hair

Texturizing your hair with S curl can be really awesome. Not only does your hair come out with loosened curled, but you also get to notice overall hair growth. Now, while S curl products are great, it’s equally important that you learn how to maintain S curl hair.

In this post, I outline and explain the tips involved in texturized hair maintenance. From applying the cream to washing and caring for your hair, you’ll learn everything it takes to keep your S curl hair bright and healthy.

Why Choose S Curl?

Since Luster Company introduced this hair grooming product designed specifically for men’s hair, many consumers have tried to figure out how it works. Yes, it’s true that the S curl products are available in different forms. But it’s also a fact that getting loosened curly hair that takes the S pattern is the big side of using this cream.

Besides adding the wavy look to your hair, what are the other benefits associated with applying S curl to your hair?

  • This cream makes it easier for you to manage your hair and style it as you want
  • S curl softens and smoothens your natural hair
  • Hair growth is a key advantage that comes with the S curl texturizer because your hair gets straightened
  • With a softer hair comes a greater ease with combing and styling which ultimately result in diverse looks for different occasions
  • Again, S curl hair saves time unlike natural hair which often requires at least ten minutes to style into something presentable
  • Apart from the regular S curl cream, you have the gel and spray which are also great for adding waves to your hair.

Why You Should Maintain S Curl Hair

Despite the many perks you’ll get from using the S curl texturizer, there are some drawbacks you might face if you don’t maintain your S curl hair the right way.

For one, I’ve applied the S curl to my hair. Feel free to watch the video here. And I was careful enough to focus on keeping my edges safe by applying the oil moisturizer first. Without oil to moisturize your hair, your scalp could go dry and strands might begin to fall out. Hence, pay careful attention to the instructions in the product.

Also, I wore gloves to protect my skin and fingers from the chemicals used in the product. Why? Not all the chemicals in the S curl are safe. They aren’t as harmful as those found in relaxers; yet, they could hurt your scalp if you don’t wash them out thoroughly after application.

Additionally, it’s important that you follow the time chart on the product instructions. It’ll guide you on the length of time you need to keep the cream in your hair. Leaving the cream in for a longer period than normal could damage your hair and produce an unexpected result.

Another key part of maintaining S curl hair is repeating the process regularly. Inasmuch as I’d have loved to say that this is a one-time thing, I’m not going to lie to you. To keep S curl hair, you must reapply the S curl texturizer especially when you notice some growth in your hair

A lot of people ask, “How often do I need to texturize my hair?” My best response is every two to three months. But this applies only if your hair returns to natural within that timeframe. If you reapply S curl before your hair is ready for it, you might experience hair breakage.

Other Practical Tips You Should Take

  • Condition your hair as long as your hair can take it. A leave-in conditioner is ideal. Simply wear a satin durag (or a bonnet for long hair) on your head for some time to keep your curls in place. Also, note that you don’t have to condition every day if your hair can’t handle it. When you find the right conditioner that works for your hair, decide on the number of days and intervals you’ll need to apply it. Currently, I’m using a conditioner by Sole Toscana which have been great for my curls. You can check it out here if your interested in purchasing. You get 15% off if you use the link!
  • Next, find the perfect moisturizer for your hair. Adding oil sheen, Spritz spray or other kinds of moisturizers to your scalp will help to prevent dryness, flakiness, and the growth of dandruff. You can also try Jamaican Black Castor Oil or something that I have been using recently which is Royal Locks Dream Cream and their Curl Boosting spray which you can check out here
  • Wrap your hair in a towel post washing. Instead of rubbing the towel in your hair and unconsciously causing breakage, try air-drying or towel drying. Leave the towel around your head for some minutes until most of the moisture is out. You sure don’t want to ruin your curls.
  • If you prefer to sleep with your hair uncovered, you might wake up with your S curls out of shape. A little wetness will restore the curls and the shine.
  • As much as possible, avoid leaving any product in your hair overnight. It could spill out to your pillow and stain your face. And when it does, acne’s going to set in. You don’t want any of this.
  • Use a wide-toothed comb to separate curls after you’ve applied the S curl texturizer. This tool is perfect for styling your curly hair as you please.
  • Monitor your hair growth and overall hair health so that you don’t miss out on any significant changes.
  • Select the right shampoo to wash your hair after you apply the S curl and every other day. A gentle shampoo will retain the curly effect of the texturizer and keep your hair soft

An Additional Tip

It’s easier to get S curl hair if you already had a naturally-textured hair. The texturizer hardly works for straight hair. So ensure that you know your hair type well enough before trying this product.

Wrapping Up

Curly and wavy hair is desirable. And the S curl activator is perfect for achieving the loosened curls you’ve always wanted. But more than that, take the time to apply it uniformly, shampoo, moisturize, and condition regularly. As a point of emphasis, CONDITION as often as possible.
