Top Foods To Help Your Hair Grow

Having healthy looking hair requires for you to not only worry about what’s on your hair but also what you put in your body.  Some of the most important nutrients your body needs to get those long luscious curls you’ve been desiring are protein, iron, vitamin A, B, C, & E, Biotin, and Omega 3 Fatty Acids.  I’ll break down different foods into these categories and how they contribute to your hair goals. These foods will make all the difference between short, brittle and thin African American hair and a healthy, full mane.

Red Meat and Dark greens (Iron): I put these together because they basically provide your hair with the same thing – iron – so it’s basically up to you to choose which you’d rather have. Iron strengthens and thickens hair. If your body doesn’t have enough iron, it can cause hair loss.

Nuts (Protein, Biotin): almonds, peanuts, all other types of nuts, they are rich in zinc which prevents shedding, allowing you to grow strong hair faster and longer. They are also rich in protein and biotin.

Beans (Iron): beans are great for black men’s hair because they not only supply it with proteins to make it grow faster, they also provide zinc and iron to make it stronger.

Salmon (Omega 3 fatty acids): long, strong hair only grows on a healthy scalp. Salmon is rich in omega 3 fatty acids that hydrate the scalp to keep your hair shiny.

Oysters (Zinc): here, oysters are not an aphrodisiac. On the contrary, this delicacy is a great source of zinc, making it perfect if you want your hair not only long but also thick and non-brittle.

Eggs (Protein): it doesn’t matter if they are fried, scrambled, boiled or poached; eggs have loads of B vitamins and protein, both which favor hair growth. Vitamin B helps the blood flow to your scalp.

Whole foods: whole products, whether oats, cereals or flour, contain a wealth of minerals that promote the healthy growth of long hair, including zinc and iron.

Carrots (Vitamin A): carrots don’t just preserve vision, they help the scalp produce natural oils to keep it hydrated. Carrot juice is good to drink every day for best results.

Avocados (Vitamin E, Omega 3 fatty acids): Avocados are the whole package as far as black men’s hair is concerned. You can apply them or eat them, either way, you’ll get a healthy scalp and shiny hair.

Low-fat dairy: dairy products such as greek yogurt gives you an excellent source of vitamin B

Get these and you’ll have a healthy headful of hair in no time!
